Hadir sama, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim), Datuk Dr Muhamad Datuk Sheikh Abdul Aziz dan Setiausaha Jawatankuasa Fatwa, Datuk Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz.

Moldable Mouse takes the perfect shape

There are some concept designs that are sometimes too good to be true, such as the Moldable Mouse. The Moldable Mouse concept was created by Lite-On Technology to help people reduce their chances of developing mouse-related injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The idea is so great and much needed today because typical computer mice are hard, and have a one-size-fits-all design that usually leads to wrist injuries.

Created out of modeling clay, the ergonomically sound mouse is covered with a blend of nylon and polyurethane fabric, so it can be easily kneaded into any shape by the user. The shape is self-retaining, so once you've got the perfect shape, you decide exactly where to place the included RFID-equipped click buttons and scroll wheel which can be repositioned anywhere on the mouse. The entire thing is eco-friendly, even the base of the mouse that holds the laser optics, batteries, and a printed circuit board. The clever design won a 2007 Red Dot Design Award, which I hope leads Lite-On to funding and the actual production of this much needed Moldable Mouse.

Is It OK To Leave My Laptop Plugged In All the Time?

Reader Mike asks: Is it safe to leave my laptop plugged in for extended periods of time when I am not using it? I am talking 10 or 12 hours at a time. Or should I only plug it in when it needs charging?

There are actually two issues at play in this very common question: It it safe to leave a laptop plugged in all the time, and is it bad for the battery to do so? Let's look at both.

First, regarding safety, there's no evidence that shows that leaving your laptop plugged in will cause any sort of danger to the battery. You're right to worry, considering the battery explosions issue of 2006-07, but many of those laptops weren't plugged in at all when they went up in flames, and there's no evidence that those that were plugged in had been left that way for a long time, or that anything other than bad battery design was responsible for their failure.

The truth is that laptops and laptop batteries are designed with the intent that they be plugged in as often as possible. In fact, most manufacturers suggest leaving them plugged in all the time. The heat you feel from the bottom of a laptop that's been running all day doesn't really have anything to do with whether it's plugged in or not. Laptops get hot due to their internal components and the chemical reaction in the battery. The A/C charge has very little to do with it. So, from a pure safety standpoint: Plugged in is just fine.

The other question concerns your battery's lifespan. Will leaving it plugged in decrease its useful life? The short answer is no, at least not enough that you're likely to notice. Lithium-ion batteries have no "memory effect" like nickel-based batteries, so there's no worry about plugging them back in before they're completely drained. But like all batteries, lithium cells lose capacity over time. The more they are drained and recharged, the more their internal structure warps, and they eventually become unusable. This happens due to heat, and since your battery gets hot even when it isn't discharging, as long as you have it installed in a running computer, it's going to be affected to some extent. Now this effect is really pretty minimal compared to constant charge-discharge cycles, but if you turn off your laptop at night and unplug it, or if you run your laptop plugged in, without a battery installed, that battery will last slightly longer when you do eventually start using it (so long as you keep it properly charged most of the time). However, the extra lifespan you gain is not even remotely worth the extra hassle in doing all this work. Bottom line: Leave your notebook's battery installed, and plug it in as often as you can.

Subject: Otak Kanan - Teknik Jepun Shichida Methods

Artikel untuk parent and parent to be..

Subject: Otak Kanan - Teknik Jepun Shichida Methods...

Beberapa minggu lepas boss aku ada cakap kat aku yg dia antaq anak die 2 thn pergi Sichida kelas... yakni kelas yg di uruskan oleh jepun melatih anak-anak befikir menggunakan otak sebelah kanan. Otak sebelah kanan ni lebih efektif sebenarmya dari otak sebelah kiri tetapi kena practise sikitlah penggunaannya.

Kelas ni mahal, kalau kelas tadika juanna yg aku nak masukkan tahun depan tu cost nye lebih tinggi dari cost kite satu semester kat ITM, tapi boss aku ni atas kesedaran ...dia pun bersetuju ngan niat ikhlasnye untuk ajar aku dan staff yg lain.

Aku pun nak korang practisekan bende ni kat anak korang, sebab baru seminggu aku buat kat anak aku...dah nampak keberkesanannya.

1. Sewaktu anak nak tidur atau tidur-tidur ayam, cakap kat die sepenuh hati dan sejujurnya yang kita sayang kat dia, dia budak baik, dia anak soleh, dia budak kuat, tak sakit, dia budak pandai dsb.

Sbb during tidur-tidur ayam ni otak kanan sedang bekerja, otak kiri dah tidur dah, tapi kena buat seikhlas hati...kalau tengah marah ..tak jadi. kalau anak korang tu dah tidur, ramas-ramas jari atau tangan dia, macam picitlah supaya dia kembali berada dalam tidur2 ayam punya situation.

Aku buat kat anak aku sebab die bangun pagi lambat pas tu siap melalak-lalak lagi, aku cakap hari-hari kat dia, dia budak baik, dia suka pergi sekolah, dia budak sihat, dia nak bangun awal....sekarang 6.30 dah bukak mata termasuk sabtu n Ahad.

2. Start guna cards untuk ajar anak. Aku ajar ABC-Z guna card seminggu je,sekarang dah kenal semua huruf dah siap boleh eja perkataan pendek-pendek..buat card banyak-banyak dan tunjuk kat dia orang cepat-cepat..macam..a..b..c..d..e, insya Allah cepat die dapat sebab bila kita tunjuk
kad laju-laju atau cepat-cepat otak kanan die bekerja keras untuk tangkap apa benda yang kite tunjuk tu...kita boleh buat card 1,2,3, gambar-gambar... potonglah gambar kat mana-mana dsb.

3. Gerak kerja tangan adalah hasil dari otak kanan, so ajar anak korang main tanah liat, main water colour, melukis, gunting kertas, origami dsb. memang le kite yang kene mengemas tapi takpe....... satu lagi cuba korang lukis gambar, contohnye rama2, tapi sebelah sahaja dan suruh die orang sambung lukis ikut apa yg korang lukis tu kat sebelah lagi...ini pun dapat mengaktifkan penggunaan otak kanan....Korang tau kenapa cine, ngan jepun pandai-pandai....sebab depa makan guna chopstik...chopstik tu mengaktifkan kerja tangan and as well gerakkan otak kanan.

4. Jgn marah-marah atau tengking anak...! .....sebab depa boleh simpan semuanya dalam otak kiri.......kalau termarah depa, pi balik kat cara no 1 tadi, and mintak maaf kat die.....

5. Satu lagi develop they all punya imagination by start bercerita kat die orang dan suruh depa sambung cerite tu, walaupun cerita tu memang lah merapu takpa.........kita pun bukan tak biasa merapu.......

6. Main teka-teki ngan they all, taruk satu barang dalam kotak tissue and suruh depa teka apa benda tu.

First few times boleh bagi option macam....bagi tau colour, bunyi, lama-lama depa boleh develop six sence by concentrating depa boleh teka apa benda dlm kotak tissue tu........ni semua utk aktifkan otak sebelah kanan.

Tapi ingat.....semua game yg hangpa nak buat ngan dia tu cuma boleh buat setengah jam sehari..tak payah lama-lama.

Sebelum buat exercise ni, kena tarik nafas dalam-dalam and relaks...tak boleh buat time tengah nak masak ka, basuh kain ka tengok tv ka, tak jadi....!

Buat kena ikhlas, and merendah diri sikitlah bila dah terror ini semua satu cara yng Tuhan lagi Maha Mengetahui kalau Dia izin anak kite nak pandai Alhamdulillah tapi kita kena berusaha, dan bersyukur kalau dah berhasil sebab bila2 Dia boleh tarik balik..betui dak......Aku pun tengah try lagi ni...

Lagi satu untuk berkongsi sesama pembaca....

Kaunselor UTM, Dr, Syed Mohd.
contohnya...."Tolong senyap Abang", " berbanding Jangan bising bang.. "

Dlm Islam sendiripun menggalakkan kita ibubapa bercakap2/berdoa dgn anak2 ketika mrk dlm proses nak tidur sbb pada ketika itulah di antara waktu2 doa dimakbulkan.

Interview: aXXo, The Most Popular DVD Ripper on BitTorrent

In real life, aXXo is probably just an average person, but on the Internet he’s a celebrity, with over a million people downloading his DVDrips every month. The search term “aXXo” is among the top searches on every torrent site, and even anti-piracy organizations use his name to trap people into downloading fake torrents. We had the chance to ask him a few questions, and find out a little more about him.

For those of you who never heard of aXXo, he is responsible for hundreds of DVDrips that find their way to millions of PCs around the world. Most of the rips are 700MB, made to fit on a single CD. Some have criticized his preference for single CD rips because of the inferior video quality, but most pirates agree that he does a great job.

Earlier this year aXXo temporarily stopped uploading movies because axxotorrents.com was trying to profit from his name. After a few weeks that site went down, and aXXo continued releasing DVDrips.

Most of the time it is impossible to track down the source of DVDrips, especially with people from “the scene“. But aXXo is not a member of the scene, and although was not very talkative either, he was at least willing to answer a few questions.

TorrentFreak: When did you start ripping / uploading DVDrips?

aXXo: When I was about 15 or 16 I got into backing up my old DVD’s. History from there.

TorrentFreak: What motivates you to share these movies?

aXXo: Why not? If I see a great film I believe everyone has the right to be entertained by it.

TorrentFreak: Don’t you think that ripping and uploading these (copyrighted) movies is wrong?

aXXo: No not really. It was just for me and some mates at first.

TorrentFreak: Are you alone in this, Or do you get help from others?

aXXo: No help, It’s all me.

TorrentFreak: You seem to prefer 700MB rips, and not higher quality ones, why is this?

aXXo: Very little (if any) Loss of quality, and will fit on a Single Music CD.

TorrentFreak: On which torrent sites do you release this movies, and why not just on one?

aXXo: There are quite a few I release to. Many people prefer one site over the rest, and I want to spread these as much as possible.

TorrentFreak: What do you think of sites that (mis)use your name, like axxotorrents.com?

aXXo: This is a touchy subject. I have nothing against any of them, it was a complete misunderstanding and the issue has been cleared up. They are reliable, And I have checked every torrent on there thus far to be real.

TorrentFreak: How can people tell if the torrent is not a scam, or a fake torrent?

aXXo: If it’s a RAR archive, It’s not mine. My rips will contain 2 or 3 files. One info and one .avi files. On occasion a .txt file but that will stop.

TorrentFreak: Where do you get the movies, and do you use scene releases as well?

aXXo: …

TorrentFreak: Do you think that distributing these (copyrighted) movies is morally wrong? That is, do you consider sharing shows to be the same as stealing?

aXXo: Thank god in this country we don’t believe in copyright infringement. It’s just sharing entertainment, nothing more.

TorrentFreak: Okay, perhaps this one is easier to answer. What is your favorite BitTorrent site?

aXXo: I don’t have one. Darksiderg.com is where my original releases are, But I release to many. Superfundo, Demonoid, MiniNova, The Pirate Bay.

TorrentFreak: Anything you want to add to this?

aXXo: Upload what you’ve downloaded, and then some.

TorrentFreak: Thanks!

aXXo: You’re welcome.
